PLASTIC LIFE (working title) by Idilia Copertino Here I am: Your invention, a commodity with a hefty price tag The most convenient inessential: your single use plastic bag Each year you make hundreds of thousands of millions of me I’m in your house, in your stores, in your food, in your sea. You make me DURABLE But you use me one time. And when you die I’ll still be in my prime. You use me and throw me away (13 billions of me… each day!) So I’m out of your sight, but I’m still around Cause I’m not your normal organic compound You make me so I can’t disappear I can break, I can change, but I’ll always be here. And if that’s not yet clear, open your ears: To decompose any of me it takes 1000 years! … Curious to see where this one will go!
