Today is a weird sort of day. Today I feel everything: the earth overheating Gasping for air, The machines digging and prying Sucking and blazing. And Guatemala's farmers’ grief for a lost crop Which is lost life For the drained children And the bony dogs, And the hungry chicken With no kernels to eat. And the dust that covers the roads The roofs and the feet. Today I feel everything. The gas burning incessantly, The skin drying up, The smoke filling lungs, And mothers worrying: What world are we living?! What world are we leaving!? And sons drinking milk Drowned in tears.
